Ashburton River & Old Onslow - Western Australia

Ashburton River & old abandoned Onslow Townsite, West Australia. The ruins of the old town are located 45 km by road from Onslow, with the turnoff being 20 km south of Onslow on the main access road to the town. When the old town was re-sited in 1925, all potentially portable buildings were moved. Only the old stone and cement buildings like the post office, police station, gaol and hospital remain.

 FOOTPRINTS in the ASH

Lavishly illustrated ‘picture book’ that shares the full, explosive story of Mount St Helens. Written by two experts who know the volcano—and its famous 1980 eruption—best. Includes rare photographs by the authors.

A powerful testament to the Creator and Judge, who forms canyons in just hours, not millions of years!

The crumbling remains of the old police station, gaol, post office, hospital complex is all that of the original town of Onslow.

(Due to heavy overcast conditions from nearby bushfires, the photos are very 'washed out'. They will be replaced the next time I am up that way.)
