Steep Point, Shark Bay - Western
Australia Steep Point is the most westerly point of mainland Australia and is reputed to be one of our planets finest land-based game fishing locations. It is around 170kms off the North West Coastal Highway at the Overlander Roadhouse, and approx. 875kms from Perth. Steep Point is only accessible by 4 Wheel Drive vehicle. An Access Permit is required to enter Steep Point and can be downloaded from SteepPoint.com.au. The permit must be completed and either faxed, emailed or posted to the Ranger at Steep Point prior to your arrival. Steep Point is a part of Carrarang Station and salt mining country. The peninsular has the magnificent Zuytdorp Cliffs, which rise to some 170 metres above sea level. Steep Point, visitors should carry their own EVERYTHING.
